Summary
Assist the Graphics Service Manager to manage external vendor projects for printing and converting. Requires a comprehensive understanding of color management, printing processes, and the external graphics vendor process from pre‑press through to final production.

Responsibilities

Serve as point of contact for questions regarding external vendors, brand projects, customers, designers, sales, account service and manufacturing teams.

Educate all stakeholders on the color/brand management program and practices.

Work with the Color Manager and vendor teams to integrate processes into workflows, hardware, and software.

Provide clarification and timelines to customers, designers, and external vendors.

Communicate Belmark’s printing capabilities to customers, designers, vendors and sales representatives.

Manage the flow of artwork and graphic orders, including graphic orders, label pages, preflight information.

Preflight all customer supplied design components and onboard them into the operating system, determining new/revised status.

Evaluate art for printability issues and provide solutions to resolve design related issues for press and manufacturing processes.

Establish clear and concise guidelines for department deliverables (proofs, 1‑up final files, stepped final files, tiffs, lenses, plates).

Create design/brand references when applicable.

Review art from graphics production when applicable.

Participate in press approvals, host customer visits, and virtual press approvals as needed.

Gather and document necessary final printed samples for vendor print quality programs.

Conduct post‑press reviews and support manufacturing.

Coordinate job pulls and internal change requests.

Provide ideas and solutions to improve quality, efficiency and productivity; help improve procedures and data storage.

Work with manufacturing to ensure color management practices and standardized processes are understood and followed.

Interact with management, sales, customer service, manufacturing and graphics personnel on an ongoing basis.

May present on color management practices to internal or external parties.

May produce computer label designs, measure and evaluate press profile sheets for quality and accuracy.

May travel to customers for training, education and data gathering.

May generate and output proofs and verify for accuracy.

Follow all safety procedures; promote a food safety culture and adhere to Safe Quality Foods requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

High school graduation or equivalent, with at least 2 years of college or technical training, and a minimum of 3 years related printing experience (flexographic, digital, offset).

Understanding of packaging machinery, eye marks, cut‑off tolerances, layouts.

Knowledge of design specifications, die/template configurations and graphic art services.

Experience with customer/vendor remote review, proof and approval processes (Web Center, Blue, GMI, etc.).

Understanding of brand management requirements.

Document project discussions and requests.

Knowledge of industry specifications for flexo, offset, digital, rotogravure.

Familiarity with Belmark manufacturing capabilities and press specifications.

Ability to apply tolerances and design options for optimal file output.

Proficiency in color theory, press characterization, and file creation for approved customer models.

Understanding workflows, graphic order layout, and internal operations sequence.

Knowledge of Adobe products and other graphic software (Illustrator, Photoshop, ArtPro, Esko).

Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.

Basic arithmetic skills with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.

Operating a Mac computer and standard office equipment.

Typing with accuracy and neatness.

Ability to meet and exceed deadlines; regular attendance required.

Capacity to read, comprehend and follow detailed instructions.

Professional and friendly customer interactions; problem solving and decision making under pressure.

Analytical skills with information.

Physical: stand 25%; walk 25%; sit 50%; use hands 100%; reach above shoulders 30%; lift up to 25 pounds 25% of work time.

Visual: see clearly at 20 inches or less; distinguish colors; adjust focus.

Possible overnight travel required.
