Job Requirements


ICR, a leading strategic communications and advisory firm, is seeking an Associate with 1-2 years agency and/or related experience to work closely with senior management to provide strategic counsel and media relations support.


This experienced Associate is responsible for helping teams drive the tactical execution of plans and campaigns to exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling and media relations, and can excel in a team environment where management and junior staff collectively roll up their sleeves to do the work aimed at achieving outstanding results.

Responsibilities



  • Play a significant role in the research, planning and development of strategic corporate communications programs

  • Maintain strong relationships with business, technology and industry media

  • Assist with financial transactions, new product launches, (virtual) events and other major media milestones

  • Develop client content, including contributed articles, press releases, media pitches, case studies and digital content

  • Proactive media relations to achieve quality placements

  • Maintain and enhance client relations

  • Understand the client’s overall business objectives in order to effectively create and promote PR campaigns

  • Assist with media training for IPOs and other major milestones

  • Work directly with NYSE and Nasdaq on IPO listing day media opportunities

  • Manage media tracking and coverage reporting

  • Assist with new business pitches and pitch prep


Qualifications



  • 1-2 years of relevant agency or client-side PR experience

  • Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments

  • Ability to manage tasks, times, and meet weekly/monthly KPIs in a virtual work environment

  • Creative and energetic personality
  • Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines

  • Understanding of enterprise technology trends and evolving PR landscape (earned/owned/paid media)

  • Previous experience working with enterprise technology and financial tech highly preferred

  • B.S/B.A required with concentration in public relations, marketing, business communications or related field preferred
