Position Description
Position Title: Video Editing Assistant Employment Status: PT (less than 19 hrs)

Job Summary
The Video Editing Assistant is responsible for the assembly and editing of source material into a finished video product. The Video Editing Assistant is responsible for the filming and camera operations.
Authority & Accountability
Authority as delegated by the Speaker/Director and Manager.
Essential Position Functions
Edit television video and soundtracks as requested by
Evaluate and select scenes for dramatic and entertainment value and story continuity.
Trim program segments to specified lengths and reassemble segments into a sequence that presents the story with maximum effect.
Review assembled program and make corrections.
Assist with selecting music/background effects and video clips for radio and TV
Produce and edit promotional and training clips for TV and radio to be used on social media, in Evangelism, lay training and other
Photograph events and programs for promotional material.
Must be able to perform the specific position functions listed above and as assigned by leadership.
Confer with supervisory personnel and others concerning recording of scenes.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Specifications
Qualifications, Scope, and Complexity of Duties
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in post‑production facility, preferred. At least one (1) year of experience with video production and editing is preferred.
Skills, scope, and complexity of duties:
Experience in production editing and related equipment.
Experience working in a non‑profit organization environment, preferred.
Knowledge of various video editing software.
Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail
Ability to exercise independent judgment, make decisions, and assume responsibility within the essential and specific position functions.
Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing technology.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Needs vivid imagination, artistic eye, and creative mindset.
Flexibility to adapt to urgent projects of unusual situations
Membership: Member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church abiding by its beliefs and values.
Must understand the basic theory and have familiarity with broadcast editing equipment and general knowledge of video production.
Must be capable of using sound judgement while accepting direction from others.
Ability to solve technical problems.

General working conditions of an office and editing suite
Physical requirements: require extensive time at a computer and sitting with moderate and minimal standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting (maximum of 50 lbs.)
Specific requirements:
Will require variable or weekend work on occasion
No special clothing or safety gear required
