Job Description
Addresses quality issues of a technical nature posed by Manufacturing, Engineering, and Commercial staff as well as by external customers; compiles data and reports to aid in the resolution of these issues and works closely with the various internal and external groups; updates electronic databases, generating material specifications and product standards, and reviewing/approving associated documentation.
Essential Functions
Review and disposition internal and external purchase orders using SAP. Requires interaction with planning, TIMET/PCC sales, and customers to clarify and secure sufficient information to disposition order placed onto TIMET Morgantown.
Review, disposition, and interpret customer, OEM, and industry specifications. Requires interaction with technical representatives with other TIMET sites and customers.
Develop and maintain Basis Specs in STAR system using information from customer purchase orders, customer referenced specifications, and applicable methods of manufacture.
Reviews and dispositions Blend Sheets for the EB and PAM furnaces.
Reviews and dispositions nonconforming materials in TIMET Morgantown's raw material database for use and nonconforming raw materials associated with raw material suppliers.
Work weekends on a rotating basis supporting heat record reviews, order approvals, swaps, and product certifications.
Perform capability analysis on Morgantown's ability to meet customer's chemistry and weight requirements.
Education and Experience
Two year technical degree OR in lieu of a degree, HS Diploma with two years' experience in manufacturing plant quality assurance/quality control, audit systems and/or inspections.
Experience in Chemistry, industrial specifications and manufacturing.
MUST be detailed‑oriented.
Must demonstrate high level of organization.
High degree of computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP, and STAR preferred).
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to explain and interpret information from internal and external sources.
