Qualifications And Requirements
An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) as deemed necessary by https://www.nj.gov/education/certification/certsandtitles/
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred), unless otherwise specified by the New Jersey Department of Education.
Experience with live event production and emerging technologies for social media live streaming.
Basic Functions And Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging curriculum and lesson plans for Audio and Visual Broadcast Technology.
Teach students audio and video production techniques, including camera operation, sound design, editing, and live broadcasting.
Operate and maintain broadcast equipment, including cameras, microphones, and editing software.
Develop and maintain relationships with local media professionals and organizations to provide students with industry insights and opportunities.
Stay current with industry trends and technologies, incorporating innovative techniques and software into the curriculum.
Mentor and supervise students in school productions and special events.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate broadcast technology and content into other subjects, such as journalism, marketing, and digital media.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Reports To
Principal
Salary, Employment Period, and Union Affiliation
Salary: $70,000 - $110,000
Employment Period: Ten (10) Months
Union Affiliation: Newark Teachers Union (NTU)
