
Audio Visual AV Technician

We are looking for an Audio Visual (AV) Technician to provide audiovisual classroom and special event support for the NYU Stern School of Business community.
Responsibilities
Performing daily equipment checks and set ups of classroom and event space technology (PC/laptop sources, ceiling projectors, document cameras, etc.)
Set up of wired/wireless microphones, and presentation materials
Live on‑demand assistance for faculty, students, and staff before and during events
Working with staff on special projects and all day/week special events
Monitoring live classroom recordings
Striking equipment and performing end‑of‑day close out procedures
Secondary responsibilities
Answering client phone calls and subsequently logging/resolving AV inquiries
Storage and inventory upkeep
Basic hardware troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance (equipment battery checks, projector filter/lamp replacement, etc.)
Qualifications
Individuals with strong interpersonal and technical (i.e. Audio/Visual and IT) skills. This includes:
Familiarity with audio amplification and video recording equipment; presentation software such as MS Powerpoint and Keynote; and troubleshooting acumen.
Must be punctual and be customer service oriented.
Recorded music, film/television, and production majors preferred (primary), as well as computer science majors (secondary).
Students with work study preferred.
