Business Development Manager
The City of Yuba City is seeking a dynamic individual with established business relationships in the Yuba City and Sutter County region to be its next Business Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to develop and implement the City’s business and economic development program and initiatives for business attraction, retention and expansion.

Recruitment will close on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 5pm (PST).

Key duties of this position include:

Working with developers, consultants and the business community to identify programs and projects that further economic investment in the City.

Providing guidance to businesses throughout the development and permitting process; assisting new and expanding businesses in site selection, acquisitions, and facility construction.

Developing and conducting a wide variety of outreach efforts; preparing marketing communications, program outreach, and public education materials for web, print, and social media; preparing press releases and information updates for City staff, elected officials, and the public on assigned projects; attending local and regional events to represent the City and promote business advantages and opportunities within the City.

Researching funding opportunities; coordinating and/or applying for grants; tracking grant-funded projects and requirements.

Monitoring legislation and developments related to business and economic development matters; evaluating their impact on City operations and programs, and recommending and implementing policy and procedural improvements.

Education
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in business and economic development, planning, business administration, redevelopment, or a related field, including two (2) years of management or supervisory experience. A master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.

Licenses and Certifications

Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record to be maintained throughout employment.
