VP Public Affairs – Washington D.C.

We are supporting a global organisation in the search for a Vice President of Public Affairs to be based in Washington, DC. This role requires a highly experienced public affairs professional with a strong oil & gas background and deep understanding of the U.S. policy and regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead U.S. public affairs and government relations strategy

Build and maintain senior relationships across Congress, federal agencies and key stakeholders

Shape and influence policy and regulatory outcomes impacting the business

Develop and execute advocacy campaigns aligned to commercial priorities

Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on political and regulatory risks

Monitor and interpret legislative and policy developments

Requirements:

Extensive experience in public affairs / government relations within the oil & gas sector

Strong network across U.S. government, policymakers, and industry bodies

Proven track record of influencing policy and regulatory outcomes

Deep understanding of U.S. energy policy and geopolitical dynamics

Experience operating in complex, high-stakes environments

Based in, or willing to relocate to Washington DC
