Our company is looking for a strategic communicator and leader to drive transformational change in the Internal Communications department. Reporting to the VP, Human Resources & Internal Communications for Corporate Headquarters, the Director will lead a team of communications professionals and collaborate across all levels of the company to deliver best-in-class communications. This leader will be a subject matter expert with change management experience and must be current on the most effective employee communications methodology and tools. Strong writing ability and a keen eye for detail are required to craft compelling strategic communications to positively influence culture, employee engagement and retention. The leader will thrive in an exciting, dynamic, fast-paced environment with regular interface with the company's senior-most executive leaders. With a passion for coaching, the Director will build an unparalleled team of strategic communicators at Headquarters and throughout the company. The role will be based in Melbourne, FL.

Essential Functions:

Lead the internal and executive communications team at Corporate Headquarters; partner with segment internal communications teams to maximize impact and ensure alignment of messaging and processes.

Develop the strategy, approach, and strategic messaging framework for internal and executive communications.

Lead significant companywide change management initiatives.

Oversee all enterprise campaign development including messaging, goals, and tactics (including segment collaboration) to provide maximum impact and ensures campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and meet stakeholder needs.

Provide strategic communications support to senior executives (e.g., enterprise messaging, speechwriting, script development, executive briefings).

Evaluate and implement processes and tools to increase efficiency of function and continuous improvement of team work product.

Drive creative approaches and new methods for engaging with employees; remain current on latest communication trends and tools.

Analyze and refine internal communication metrics to measure engagement, usability, and impact to the organization.

Possess strong writing and editing skills with the ability to conceive, research, and pen compelling and accurate messaging.

Identify, develop and edit editorial content for multiple purposes including employee campaigns, press releases, internal and external web content, core messaging, speeches and presentations.

Coordinate and manage editorial calendar and content across segments and functions.

Generate ideas for supporting graphics and visual representation of editorial content, and develop storyboards for video production, in partnership with Creative teams.

Oversee as well as individually manage multiple projects at the same time, while meeting aggressive deadlines.

Establish trusted relationships across all levels and functions within the company.

Provide performance management and development of internal communications team members.

Hybrid Work Location: You will need to live within commuting distance to our Melbourne, FL location. Work from home schedule will be dictated by the manager and business needs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, and 15 years of prior related experience (corporate communications, public relations agency or journalism preferred) or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in communications - In lieu of degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience in communications.

Minimum five years of project management experience, including experience in major project initiatives (e.g., new websites, major campaigns).

Minimum three years of managerial experience directly managing others.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Familiarity with and usage of AP Style.

Experience developing and executing various internal and/or external communications initiatives.

Experience meeting and working against deadlines in an often-demanding environment.

Experience in develop strategies, organizing and leading large enterprise initiatives.

Grasps and translates important business, market and management concepts into understandable messages and stories.

Client-oriented, with ability to work closely with key company partners and communications liaisons.

Experience with and application of continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, lean, or six sigma.

Technical skills - Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Base Salary - USD $180,000 to $200,000
