Nature of Work
The position supports the Coworking and Meeting Center Space. This is a role involved in just about everything we do. We’re looking for someone who can step into the flow of ongoing exhibits, events, and operations, while also helping us grow and evolve what’s possible.
Essential Job Functions
Gallery & Events Coordinator
Hang and maintain all art exhibits in the Main Street Gallery as well as throughout the Creative Commons (Loop Gallery, Conference Rooms, and Coworking Spaces)
Create reels and other content to promote events and exhibits and to celebrate artist sales
Support marketing efforts including calendar submissions, newsletter and website updates, social media posts, and printed materials
Communicate directly with artists regarding submissions, logistics, and participation
Work events include the 3rd Thursday Listening Room/Open Mic, 2nd Saturday Open House, 4th Friday Sketch Social, and additional evening and weekend bookings.
Other Job Functions
Building Operations & Maintenance
Open and/or close the building
Sanitize meeting room tables and kitchen surfaces
Restock coffee and general supplies
Maintain cleanliness of coworking and common areas
Submit building and IT work orders as needed
Front Desk & Member Support
Greet and record visitors; provide a welcoming first impression
Answer phones and respond to email inquiries
Provide information about the gallery, exhibits, and programs
Direct visitors to their destinations
Maintain and updatemember lists
Events & Logistics Support
Help coordinate meeting bookings and communicate with clients about logistics and needs
Set up and breakdown rooms for meetings and events
Move furniture, set up portable stage and sound equipment, and support event logistics
Desirable knowledge, skills and abilities
The position requires strong communication and computer skills, attention to detail, is creative, flexible and demonstrates good judgment, and the physical ability to assist with event setup and gallery installation.
Knowledge of basic clerical tasks and procedures. Ability to use a computer and related technology, including social media.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Office and understand how to leverage Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn for marketing and outreach.
Ability to work independently on a variety of assignments.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public. Ability to handle difficult and varied situations with employees and/or the public.
Excellent customer service skills and judgment that provide good ideas, solutions to problems, and a win-win attitude that supports and forwards the mission of the space.
Physical Working Conditions
Moderate to strenuous physical effort may be required, including frequent lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and walking.
May be required to move (push, pull, lift) objects weighing 25 to 100 pounds.
Must be able to move furniture, lift boxes, stand on a ladder to adjust gallery lighting and other physical requirements of setting up and breaking down event venues.
Minimum Training and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent, some office management experience, strong computer skills and experience working with the public.
