Job Summary:
Cogent Communications is a global, Tier 1 facilities-based ISP, ranked among the top five networks worldwide. The PHP Developer will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining in-house business applications, working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze technology gaps, research, develop, and deploy software solutions.
- Define sprints and deliverables with project leads.
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimize code.
- Conduct integration, testing, bug fixes, and maintenance activities.
- Perform requirements analysis and develop prototypes for applications.
- Support applications in operational status with enhancements and fixes.
- Code, test, and debug software or enhancements.
- Develop user interfaces and applications, setting expectations, and conducting tests.
- Integrate platforms using APIs.
- Create technical documentation and user guides.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 3+ years of PHP web development experience.
- 2+ years with Laravel Framework.
- 2+ years with MySQL and/or MSSQL.
- Experience in all SDLC phases, OO analysis, and revision control.
- Ability to communicate with end-users and gather requirements.
- Ability to structure software projects (UI/API/DB).
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- At least 2 years of college education in Computer Science or similar.
- Strong customer service, time management, and organizational skills.
- Capability to write and present detailed documentation.
