We are seeking a motivated
AV / Low Voltage Technician
to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in
audio/video installation ,
structured cabling ,
electronic security , or related construction/technical trades. We are willing to train the right person with the right attitude and work ethic.
This is a hands‑on role working in commercial environments installing and servicing low voltage systems.
What You’ll Do
Install
audio/video systems , including video walls, displays, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, and control systems
Install and terminate
structured cabling , including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and other low voltage wiring
Install
security systems , including surveillance cameras and access control systems
Read and interpret blueprints, floorplans, and wiring diagrams
Mount equipment such as TVs, speakers, cameras, racks, and other devices
Build and dress equipment racks and cable pathways neatly and professionally
Test, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues in the field
Work with team members, project managers, and office staff to complete projects efficiently
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles
Keep a clean, safe work environment
Travel Requirements
Travel is required approximately 30% of the time, including overnight stays
Travel may include multi‑day out‑of‑town projects depending on workload and project schedules
Per‑diem is provided for eligible overnight travel
Company vehicles are provided for all work‑related travel
What We’re Looking For
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
Audio/video installation
Structured cabling / data cabling
Video surveillance camera systems
Access control systems
Burglar / intrusion alarm systems
IT / networking / telecom field work
Electrical or low voltage construction work
Additional Qualifications
Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand and power tools
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders / in ceilings / in various job site conditions
Ability and willingness to travel overnight as needed
Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of background checks, motor vehicle record review, and/or drug screening, where permitted by law.
Bonus Points For
Experience with commercial AV systems
Experience terminating and testing network cabling
Experience with access control or video surveillance systems
Experience with system programming or configuration
OSHA certification or other trade certifications
