Interior Design, Metropolis, and Azure are leading brands serving the architecture and design community through media, events, digital platforms, and custom marketing solutions. Across these brands, we connect influential architects, designers, manufacturers, and decision-makers shaping the built environment.

We are seeking a highly motivated New Business Sales Director to drive revenue in partnership with a New Business Development Manager. This is a closer role first and foremost: someone who can convert qualified opportunities into business, build lasting client relationships, and develop a meaningful book of business across the interior design and architecture marketplace.

The ideal candidate is commercially savvy, highly versatile, and relentlessly resourceful. They know how to move from prospecting to pitch to close. They are comfortable building business from both company-generated opportunities and their own self-created pipeline. They understand how to navigate complex sales conversations, identify client needs, and turn ideas into revenue.

This is a high-accountability role for someone who is ambitious, scrappy, and energized by winning new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own new business revenue generation across Interior Design, Metropolis, and Azure within an assigned category or account universe
  • Close business from qualified opportunities generated internally by a partner New Business Development Manager, including leads sourced by business development and marketing
  • Build and grow an independent book of business through proactive prospecting, networking, outreach, and relationship development
  • Identify new advertisers, sponsors, and marketing partners aligned with our brands and audience
  • Develop tailored sales strategies and proposals that align client objectives with our media, event, digital, and custom content offerings
  • Lead the full sales cycle from initial conversation through negotiation, close, and handoff
  • Reengage dormant accounts and uncover new paths to revenue within lapsed or underdeveloped relationships
  • Partner cross-functionally with business development, marketing, and internal stakeholders to maximize pipeline conversion and revenue outcomes
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline in HubSpot, including accurate pipeline management, forecasting, contact records, and activity tracking
  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue, pipeline, and conversion expectations

About the Ideal Candidate

  • Proven success in a new business sales role, preferably in media, marketing, advertising, events, or a related B2B environment
  • Strong closer mentality with the ability to move opportunities through the funnel and get deals over the line
  • Comfortable hunting for new business while also maximizing company-generated leads
  • Savvy and consultative in front of clients, with strong commercial instincts and polish
  • Scrappy, resilient, and highly self-directed
  • Prolific in outreach, relationship development, and pipeline creation
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
  • Experience using HubSpot or a comparable CRM with rigor and consistency
  • Knowledge of or interest in the interior design, architecture, or built environment space is a strong plus
