As the Audio-Visual Installation Technician, you will perform a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field role responsible for executing the actual work in our clients’ buildings. The install tech needs to coordinate with project management, field superintendents, and others to understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. This installation can include displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, etc.
Responsibilities:
Physically install a variety of technology in diverse locations.
Perform cabling terminations for different wire and connector types, verifying standards.
Support equipment rack preparation, including staging, wire lacing, power strips, grounding bars, and jack-fields.
Read and understand functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams.
Mount base build equipment such as monitors, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors.
Maintain technical performance and flexibility in work schedules, including periodic overtime and weekend work to meet deadlines.
Complete assignments efficiently, estimate task durations, and provide daily feedback to supervisors.
Build and wire custom panels from engineering drawings.
Handle, install, terminate, repair, and test advanced fiber optic cables.
Generate cable labels and manage wire listing activities per standards.
Track and maintain toolkit, company vehicle, and materials inventories; keep worksite organized and documented.
Check in drop-shipped items and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
Maintain licenses, certifications, and qualifications as required by state regulations.
Record daily work hours and maintain project logs.
Occasionally climb ladders, use stairs, and lift/move materials up to 40 pounds.
Have vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision.
Travel frequently by car and occasionally by plane; possess a valid driver’s license.
