Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Consultant to join our team and lead the design and enhancement of applications for kiosk interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating intuitive and engaging user experiences for kiosk platforms, ensuring seamless interaction and accessibility for a diverse range of users. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of user behavior to deliver outstanding kiosk applications that meet both business objectives and user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
User Research and Analysis:
Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of kiosk users.
Analyze user feedback and data to inform design decisions and improve user experience.
Develop user personas, journey maps, and usability testing plans specific to kiosk interactions.
UI/UX Design:
Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for kiosk applications, considering the unique challenges and opportunities of kiosk environments.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate design ideas and user flows.
Ensure designs are accessible and comply with relevant accessibility standards and guidelines.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the design vision is effectively implemented and aligns with business goals.
Present design concepts and rationales to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and iterating as necessary.
Collaborate with the development team to ensure technical feasibility and smooth implementation of designs.
Usability Testing and Iteration:
Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to gather feedback on kiosk interfaces.
Analyze test results and user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Iterate on designs based on usability testing outcomes and evolving user needs.
Industry Trends and Best Practices:
Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in UI/UX design, particularly for kiosk applications.
Apply industry standards and innovative design techniques to enhance the overall user experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a UI/UX Designer, with a significant focus on designing for kiosk applications.
Strong portfolio showcasing design projects, specifically highlighting kiosk interfaces and user interactions.
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
Experience working on projects involving interactive displays, touchscreens, or similar technologies.
Understanding of the technical aspects of kiosk hardware and software integration.
Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
