This role can be based in either our Conshohocken, PA or Paramus, NJ offices.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Account Director (SAD) to lead high-profile healthcare advertising/communications accounts, driving strategic growth, client relationships, and team leadership. This role requires deep experience in HCP and/or DTC marketing, a strong understanding of pharma regulatory processes (MLR reviews), and a proven track record of leading integrated marketing campaigns across an omnichannel ecosystem. The SAD will set the team’s daily work rhythm by promoting higher standards through more efficient and “smarter” working practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior client contact, fostering trusted partnerships and leading strategic discussions
- Develop and execute brand strategy in collaboration with clients, medical, creative, and strategy teams
- Lead HCP and/or DTC campaign development, overseeing multichannel marketing initiatives from concept to execution
- Able to address brand challenges by collaborating with teams to develop the best solutions based on current market trends
- Communicates the collective perspective of all agency team members while aligning with the client’s short-term and long-term visions
- Has a strong understanding of client processes and leads the team in ensuring they are followed and clearly understood. Identify opportunities for organic growth and contribute to new business development efforts, including pitching and proposal development
- Leads the team in a manner that encourages growth, provides mentorship, ensures effective execution, and supports company ideals
- Partner with internal teams to drive innovative, compliant, and results-driven marketing campaigns
- Guide market research, competitive intelligence, and strategic insights to inform brand positioning
- Oversee the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process, ensuring compliance while maintaining creative excellence
- Lead account planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring profitability and efficiency
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure high-quality project execution
- Provide mentorship and leadership to Account Directors and junior team members, fostering growth and career development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Advanced degree or MBA a plus)
- 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical advertising (agency experience required)
- Strong background in HCP and/or DTC marketing with expertise in pharma regulations, MLR processes, and multichannel marketing
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead client relationships, manage large-scale accounts, and drive strategic growth
- Experience overseeing financials, profitability, and team leadership within an agency environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
