The Senior Director of Communications at Salesforce will lead the communication strategy for Slack (System of Engagement) and Agentforce (System of Agency), translating complex AI concepts into compelling narratives for executives, customers, and the broader market. The role requires partnering with product engineering, product marketing, and senior leadership to position Salesforce as the #1 AI Agent Platform.

Core Responsibilities

  • Devise and execute the strategic narrative: translate the high‑level company vision into a multi‑channel communications roadmap that explains the mechanics of the Agentic Enterprise through the System of Engagement, the System of Agency, and the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Curate influence: identify and empower internal visionaries, managing the process of turning diverse perspectives into a chorus of voices that validate the shift toward agentic work.
  • Drive outcome‑centric storytelling: lead the transition from feature‑based external communications to outcome‑based storytelling, producing evidence and narratives that demonstrate how human‑agent synergy scales impact across functional domains.
  • Maintain technical integrity: serve as the bridge between product and the public, simplifying complex concepts for the market while preserving technical authority and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in communications or marketing at the intersection of enterprise software and emerging technology, supporting major category‑shift narratives.
  • Narrative integrator: proven ability to weave disparate product lines into a clear, compelling narrative.
  • Agentic fluency: strong grasp of how autonomous agents change the user experience and ability to articulate that evolution.
  • Collaborative leader: skilled project orchestrator who can work across departments to identify subject matter experts and convert them into market‑facing thought leaders.
  • Technical literacy: comfortable discussing product architecture with engineering and marketing teams, translating technical details into clear prose.
  • Execution excellence: thrive in high‑stakes environments, demonstrating high agency, ownership, and precision delivery.
  • Exceptional judgment: navigate the evolving AI landscape, providing sound counsel to product leaders on audience engagement through evidence‑based storytelling.

In the United States, compensation for this position ranges from $181,700 to $304,700 annually.
