Job Summary

The Business Development Director is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence. This person works closely with the Vice President of Business Development to develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve the company’s growth goals.

We are formally known as CPI Radant Technologies Division, and we serve the aerospace, defense, naval, and commercial industries by designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting advanced composite radomes, reflectors and structural composite products. Radomes Are Special “domes” Made Of Composite Materials That Protect Antennas And Radar Systems From The Environment While Allowing Electromagnetic Signals To Pass. CPI Radant Produces These For Critical Applications, Meaning

  • They enable secure communications and radar/electronic-warfare capabilities for military and commercial aerospace platforms.
  • Their manufacturing includes large apertures and high‑frequency performance.
  • Their advances in composite manufacturing and large structures feed into modern aircraft, satellites, naval vessels, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives and revenue target.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and market growth opportunities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic partnership, alliances, and joint ventures to expand the company’s market reach and enhance its product offerings.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing innovative sales strategies, and closing deals to meet targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing business development team, providing guidance, support, and resources to foster professional growth and achieve collective goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including sales, marketing, product development, and finance to ensure alignment and synergy in business development efforts.
  • Assess risks associated with business development initiatives and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s interests and financial well-being.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, market trends, and financial metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of business development strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Engage with key stakeholders including executives, board members, investors, and industry partner to communicate business development initiatives, progress, and outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting tools.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a passion for driving growth and achieving targets.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years + experience selling Aerospace & Defense products.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales leadership role.
  • Active security clearance or ability to secure a security clearance is required.
  • Strong connectivity to aerospace & defense industry partners.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Moderate level of domestic and international travel required (up to 50%).
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
