Overview
Workstyle: Remote
Reports to: VP, Strategic Partnerships & Verticals
Travel Expectations: Minimal travel; will be determined by business needs and may include occasional trips for key meetings, collaboration opportunities, or area-connected events.
Physical Requirements / Demands: This is a primarily sedentary, home-based role that requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer. The role involves regular use of standard office equipment, such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone. What we’re looking for
Bring 5–10+ years of enterprise sales experience, ideally in a vertical-focused or named account model
Demonstrate success managing long sales cycles and navigating multifaceted decision-making structures
A consultative, customer-first mindset with strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Exceptionally skilled at prospecting, solution selling, multithreading, and building trusted relationships with executive-level buyers
Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and accountability — you own your vertical and are expected to think and act like a business owner
Strategic and data-driven — you know how to use insights, tools, and collaboration to drive outcomes
Display exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Show familiarity with or deep interest in your assigned industry vertical
What you’ll do
Own the vertical – Act as the go-to industry expert and AE for a curated list of enterprise accounts nationwide
Prospect and expand – Identify new enterprise logos while expanding revenue within existing accounts through solution selling and multithreading
Shape the strategy – Translate vertical insights and market trends into meaningful actions that guide sales motions and campaign development
Collaborate cross-functionally – Work closely with Marketing to influence demand generation and ABM campaigns, and with Customer Success to ensure world-class onboarding and growth
Drive retention and expansion – Focus on long-term value, delivering repeat business, increased share of wallet, and deep customer loyalty
Advise and influence – Serve as a vertical voice across the company, sharing feedback, highlighting opportunities, and shaping go-to-market strategy
How you’ll be measured
Growth in top-line revenue and gross margin by vertical, including year-over-year trends and performance to plan
Volume and quality of new business development activities (e.g., leads, outreach, demos, events, ABM follow-up)
New customer acquisition and revenue contribution, including stack ranking and revenue per teammate
Effectiveness of collaboration with Marketing and Customer Success on campaigns, onboarding, and retention
Customer experience metrics, including tNPS, CSAT, and order accuracy
Contribution to vertical strategy, including insights, pipeline quality, and campaign participation
As a Lead Account Executive, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Custom Ink’s industry presence and growth strategy. Your work will help unlock meaningful connections between our brand and the enterprise clients who depend on us for team gear, employee swag, branded kits, and more. By blending insight, relationship building, and commercial acumen, you’ll drive results that support our mission and create lasting value for our customers and our business.
Compensation
We are committed to providing pay transparency and equitable compensation. For this salaried exempt position, the base salary range is $103,500 - $120,000 plus a quarterly commission targeted at $17,500, tied to individual/company performance and continued retention. Placement within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: knowledge, skills, years & depth of experience, and equity with internal team members.
