Primary Purpose of Position
The Marketing Coordinator supports the School of Professional Studies (SPS) Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team in the planning, coordination, and execution of integrated marketing and communications initiatives that advance the strategic goals of SPS. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, this position assists in the development and implementation of multi-channel marketing campaigns designed to promote academic programs, professional certificates, events, and strategic partnerships.
The Marketing Coordinator contributes to digital and print marketing efforts by creating, scheduling, and managing content across multiple platforms, including web, email, organic and paid social media, video, photography, and digital advertising. The role collaborates closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, content team members, campus partners, and program directors to develop targeted promotional strategies and ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and tone across all communications.
This position supports campaign execution and performance tracking using tools such as Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Agentforce Marketing), and native social media reporting dashboards. Responsibilities include assisting with paid digital advertising initiatives (Meta, LinkedIn, and Google Ads), maintaining editorial calendars, producing multimedia marketing assets, drafting and editing content, and monitoring trends in higher education marketing to inform continuous improvement.
The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in day-to-day marketing operations while contributing to the broader strategic marketing objectives of the School of Professional Studies.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Duties
The Marketing Coordinator supports the School of Professional Studies Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team in planning, organizing, and executing marketing initiatives that advance student recruitment, engagement, and program visibility. This role manages projects from concept through delivery, ranging from individual marketing pieces to integrated, multi-channel campaigns that include web, email, organic and paid social media, video, and digital advertising. The coordinator collaborates with internal stakeholders, faculty, and cross-unit partners to develop compelling, brand-aligned content while ensuring all communications comply with university policies and professional standards. This position currently operates in a hybrid work format.
The Marketing Coordinator works with a variety of marketing tools and platforms, including social media management tools, project management software, graphic design applications, WordPress or similar content management systems, and digital marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Agentforce Marketing). The role applies foundational technical skills in video production and editing-including scripting support, filming, audio capture, and post-production-for use in digital campaigns and social media, and captures and performs light editing of photography to support marketing initiatives. Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment while maintaining alignment with institutional priorities.
Other Work Responsibilities
Monitor and optimize organic and paid social media performance, adjusting content scheduling and engagement strategies as needed to support recruitment goals.
Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries across social media platforms in a timely and professional manner, ensuring accurate information and positive brand representation.
Develop and maintain performance reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate advertising and campaign effectiveness, summarizing insights for team review.
Conduct research on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in digital marketing and higher education communications to inform strategy and process improvements.
Support audience identification, segmentation, and targeting efforts for prospective students, assisting in the refinement of digital advertising strategies.
Coordinate content review processes and assist with tracking campaign timelines, deliverables, and distribution schedules.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Demonstrated professional experience in higher education marketing, communications, or a related field.
Experience using WordPress or a similar content management system (CMS), with familiarity working in CRM and/or marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Agentforce Marketing).
Demonstrated ability to create, schedule, and manage organic social media content across multiple platforms, including aligning messaging and visuals to support engagement goals.
Experience supporting digital content production, including basic video production and editing, photography, and image editing for marketing and communications purposes.
Strong professional writing, editing, and copywriting skills with experience developing content for web, email, and digital communications in alignment with established brand and style guidelines.
