Definition
Under general supervision of the Assistant Director, the Senior Multimedia Specialist assumes a leadership role in developing and implementing technology and creative design to support the Department by utilizing a variety of multimedia software platforms. This production role requires supporting various types of requests from across the Department. This person is responsible for interpreting the Department brand and marketing through social media, photos, videos and presentations. This includes creating, editing, visual design, graphical elements, videos, tables and charts.

This job class is treated as FLSA Exempt.

Examples of Tasks
1. Technology & Special Projects: Applies innovative layout and design to enhance the digital presence of the department via any applicable online digital medium, publications and data visualizations.

Consults with department staff to determine media production needs, advises and provides support on various aspects of design, development and use of media.
Maintains a Special Projects calendar for organization, communication and updates for Multimedia Services.
Collaborates with department staff on a variety of projects and develops media projects goals, objectives and timetables for production.
Coordinates multimedia projects to include facility and equipment use, use of slides and audio or graphic productions.
Estimates time, material, expenses and prepares production budgets.
Attends departmental events to capture still photographs, video, set up and operate audio/visual equipment.
Preserves media materials, maintains and promotes the Department's activities, events, programs, and any other relevant occurrences provided by the Department.
Establishes and maintains a Department archive of photographs, and audio/visual media for future use and reference.
Creates and maintains backup system, organizes and maintains a catalogue system for Department photographs, and other multimedia materials
Maintains media supplies, equipment inventory and maintenance of equipment.
Maintains proper storage protocol for all multimedia equipment.
2. Administration: Works to ensure all processes are followed regarding the posting of CRSD activities and events.

Collects data through analytics and statistics on social media platforms for reporting.
Plans, schedules, monitors and maintains the social media platforms.
Monitor trends in social media best practices, tools, applications, creative management and technologies.
Review and approve content on a daily basis and develop photo storyboards and galleries.
Provides administrative oversight for social media profile/website.
Use of a drone and recording device with a gimbal for digital video and digital photography.
Creates and maintains a log of past and current projects completed for department for future reference, including, fliers, signage, posters banners, etc.

3. Outreach, Branding and Marketing: Produce media that is culturally relevant and reflects the Department Culture

Designs and develops department promotions materials such as fliers, brochures, newsletters, signage, and other outreach materials to the SRPMIC.
Encourages and supports staff during individual recording projects, which may include tips, troubleshooting and best practices for film and other recording devices.
Writes, reviews and edit script(s) to support the audio and visual aids.
Determines content appropriateness according to intended audience and use.
Attends activities/ events as required by the department and its programs as opportunities to capture photos, interviews, and/or video as reference material to enhance the department's programming and outreach.
Estimates and proposes expenses for production and project budgets.
Ensures there is consistency in design across expanding content and think creatively to justify concepts of these expanding projects.
Works closely with division Managers to ensure media requests meet deadlines and follow procedures from submission of requests to release.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Department Directors to maintain and enhance the programming of the CRSD Department.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

Knowledge of the culture, customs, traditions, history and government of the Salt River Pima- Maricopa Indian Community.
Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the production of website and other media related projects.
Knowledge of multimedia development tools.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to maintain accurate and timely program and project files.
Ability to coordinate media production work.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. including, but not limited to, audio, video and computer equipment for set up and presentation.
Skill with website design, implementation and maintenance.

Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
