Job Summary
Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking a

Multimedia Specialist

that will initiate, develop, and produce professional communications using a variety of media, and assist with internal and external communications that directly align with Normandy Schools Collaborative’s Strategic Plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as district journalist and storyteller, highlighting NSC’s people, mission and progress, with a focus on copy creation, quality video storytelling and photography

Initiate, develop, produce, and edit creative and engaging mission-driven videos, photos, graphics, and written content for the district communication channels (social media, website, e-newsletters, print media, etc.)

Lead the development and execution of cohesive brand identities across print, digital, and multimedia platforms.

Design high-quality marketing and promotional materials including social media graphics, presentations, advertisements, brochures, signage, and campaign assets.

Ensure all visual communications align with established brand standards, voice, and strategic messaging.

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high creative standards.

Prepare production-ready files for print vendors, digital publishing, and multimedia distribution.

Maintain and evolve brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all departments and external-facing materials.

Produce internal and external digital newsletters

Seek out photo and video opportunities and newsworthy stories in the district

Manage district website, including content creation and placement

Work with the director of communications to analyze and develop content for the district’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging platforms

Manage and monitor the district’s social media platforms and respond to comments as outlined in our social media guidelines

Train and support school and district personnel on social media and the latest digital media trends

Assist with developing and managing annual editorial calendar, including annual events and observances, and newsletter deadlines

Assist with media relations activities, including writing news releases and alerts, and supervising media on campus

Assist with graphic design requests from schools and district staff

Maintain archives of media resources (photos, video, news clips, etc.)

Assist Director of Communication with districtwide community engagement events and projects.

Other duties as assigned by Director of Communications

Education and Experience

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, journalism or communications-related field.

Three or more years of experience in video journalism (including filming, directing, and editing), photography and graphic design preferred.

Public relations
ews media experience is a plus, but not required.

Experience in social media management and written content production.

Special Knowledge and Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Canva and S’more.

Microsoft Office or Google Suite are preferred but not required.

Familiarity with Associated Press style.

Excellent customer service skills in working with students, families, staff, administrators, and the public.

Ability to initiate, multitask and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced setting and on deadline.

Availability to work evenings and occasional weekends when needed, including access to reliable transportation.
