Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX 32 Chicago is seeking a

Senior Producer

to lead daily news execution across all platforms while driving digital-first storytelling. This role blends news leadership with streaming strategy, ensuring content performs across all platforms - linear, web, mobile, and social. You are expected to find stories first, develop sources and contributors. Utilize data and analytics to determine what Chicago news fans want. Then deliver it. Refining our approach as needed.

Key Responsibilities
News Leadership

Oversee editorial direction and production of assigned newscasts

Build rundowns, write and approve scripts, and manage show flow

Lead control room during live broadcasts and breaking news

Coach and mentor producers, writers, and associate producers

Collaborate with anchors, reporters, and assignment desk on story development

Identify high-impact, enterprise, and breaking stories

Balance urgency with accuracy across platforms

Ensure consistent voice and standards across broadcast and digital

Integrate user-generated content and audience interaction when appropriate

Streaming & Multi-Platform Strategy

Ensure all major stories are optimized for FOX32Chicago.com and mobile apps

Lead real-time digital publishing during breaking news (live blogs, push alerts, video clips)

Partner with digital team to:

Write SEO-friendly headlines and summaries

Optimize content for search, social, and audience engagement

Oversee social media strategy for newscasts (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok)

Use analytics tools (Chartbeat, Google Analytics, etc.) to:

Track story performance

Adjust editorial strategy in real time

Coordinate video clipping and distribution for digital platforms immediately after air

Drive digital-exclusive content ideas (streams, explainers, vertical video)

Team Leadership

Supervise and train producers on both broadcast and digital workflows

Set expectations for cross-platform storytelling

Fill in for Executive Producer as needed

Qualifications

5–8+ years of newsroom experience, including producing in a major market

Prior experience as a line producer or senior/exec producer

Strong understanding of digital publishing systems (CMS)

Experience with analytics tools and audience growth strategies

Ability to lead under pressure in breaking news situations

Strong writing, copy editing, and storytelling skills

Familiarity with video editing and social media platforms

Preferred Skills

Experience in a FOX O&O or large-market station

Knowledge of Chicago news landscape

Background in streaming or digital video production

Experience leading cross-functional teams (broadcast + digital)

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $95,000.00-105,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
