Podcast Producer / Editor — Bangles & Headdresses, Season 2
Initial Engagement:
The first three episodes of Season 2 of Bangles & Headdresses will be edited and finalized at a rate of $60/hour, with delivery expected within 7 business days of receiving all audio and production assets. This initial collaboration will establish the creative rhythm, technical quality, and narrative tone for the series.

Each episode invites listeners into layered conversations on identity, heritage, and the art of self-presentation across time and place.

Role Overview:
The Podcast Editor will shape the sound and emotional pacing of each episode, transforming raw recordings into compelling, polished narratives. This role requires both technical excellence and creative sensitivity — someone who can enhance the story without overpowering it, ensuring every voice feels intimate, intentional, and resonant.
Key Responsibilities (Initial Phase):
- Live Production. Managing on-site audio recording for interviews, panels, or performances.
- Edit, mix, and master the first three episodes of Bangles & Headdresses.
- Clean and balance dialogue tracks, remove noise and filler, and maintain narrative flow.
- Integrate music, archival tape, and ambient sound thoughtfully.
- Collaborate with producers and hosts to ensure sound design complements the story’s emotional arc.
- Deliver final mixes and show notes within agreed deadlines (7 business days per batch).
Tools & Skills Required:
- Proficiency with audio editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Audition, Logic Pro, or Reaper).
- Strong storytelling sense — pacing, tone, rhythm, and narrative cohesion.
- Experience with multi-track editing, EQ, compression, and mastering for broadcast/podcast quality.
- Ability to receive and integrate creative feedback quickly and collaboratively.
Growth Opportunity:
After the completion of the first three episodes, both UPROSE and the contractor will reassess whether this partnership will continue into the rest of season 2. In the second half of the season this role may expand into more hours and a creative partnership, encompassing:
- Pitching & Development: Contributing to story ideas, episode concepts, and new podcast proposals.
- Promotion: Supporting trailer creation, sound snippets, and behind-the-scenes content for social media.
- Creative Collaboration: Serving as a thought partner in shaping the sonic identity and emotional direction of Bangles & Headdresses as it evolves.
