COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING ADMINISTRATOR
Materials Research Laboratory, implements communications and marketing initiatives that promote MRL programs, partnerships, and research impact; and develops and refines messaging for diverse audiences, translating complex scientific and technical concepts into accessible content.
Responsibilities
Writing, editing, and producing materials for web, newsletters, print, and digital platforms
Maintaining and improving website content and user experience
Supporting social media and digital engagement
Coordinating production of communications materials with vendors and stakeholders, ensuring consistent messaging and branding
Event promotion and communications, developing press materials, coordinating with institutional communications offices on media opportunities
Supporting community engagement initiatives and expanding audience reach across platforms
Using analytics to evaluate engagement and improve communications strategies
Guiding student assistants and overseeing workflows
Job Requirements
Required
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field
A minimum of five years of relevant experience
Strong writing, editing, and content production skills
Experience managing projects and digital content
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to translate complex information
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience coordinating with vendors
Discretion with confidential information
Willingness for occasional evening/weekend work
Preferred
Experience in higher education or research
Familiarity with technical communications
Experience using analytics
Experience supporting events or engagement initiatives
Familiarity with design and content tools
