Digital Communications Coordinator Hillside Fellowship

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, with occasional evening/weekend responsibilities

The Digital Communications Coordinator supports the Communications Team in developing and executing digital communications that clearly and consistently communicate Hillside Fellowship's mission, vision, and values. This role is responsible for managing Hillside's digital communication platforms, including the website, mobile app, social media channels, and email communications, helping create inviting and engaging content that connects people to the life and mission of the church.
Working collaboratively across ministries, this role helps ensure digital communications are clear, timely, visually consistent, and aligned with Hillside's overall communication strategy and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Communications + Content Management
Manage and execute Hillside's digital communications across the website, mobile app, social media platforms, and email communications
Create, schedule, and publish engaging digital content that aligns with Hillside's communication strategy, branding, and style guide
Maintain accurate and up-to-date information across all digital platforms, including ministry events, sermon content, and church-wide communications
Coordinate and distribute Hillside's monthly newsletter and additional church-wide email communications
Social Media + Community Engagement
Implement and manage Hillside's social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
Create engaging and inviting content while monitoring platform performance and measuring effectiveness
Respond to comments and interactions in a winsome, thoughtful, and mission-aligned manner
Stay informed on current social media trends, platform updates, and best practices
Website + Platform Coordination
Manage and maintain Hillside's website and mobile app, ensuring content is clear, current, and accessible
Coordinate with and deploy the Web Development Serve Team as needed to support website updates and digital projects
Coordinate and manage digital communication tools and platforms, including Mailchimp, Bitly, church management systems, and related communication software
Project Coordination + Team Collaboration
Collaborate with ministry leaders and the Communications Team to support ministry-specific events and communication needs
Manage the master communications content calendar under the direction of the Communications Team Lead
Support special projects and additional communications initiatives as assigned
Maintain a high level of attention to detail in proofreading, formatting, visual consistency, and overall presentation
Team Participation + Volunteer Development
Coordinate and manage the Social Media Monitor Serve Team schedule
Build relationships with serve team members in a way that encourages engagement, growth, and discipleship
Contribute to a collaborative, flexible, and service-oriented team culture
Additional Responsibilities
This role may include additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission and leadership of Hillside Fellowship, with the scope of ministry growing and adapting as organizational needs change
Qualifications and Requirements
Faith + Character
Demonstrates a maturing relationship with Jesus Christ and embodies the culture and values of Hillside Fellowship (Galatians 5:22-23)
Approaches communication and collaboration with humility, creativity, and a servant-hearted mindset
Must be a member of Hillside Fellowship or willing to pursue membership within six months of hire
Education + Experience
Minimum of three years of experience in communications, marketing, digital media, or related work required; ministry experience preferred
College degree in communications, marketing, media, or a related field preferred
Experience developing and managing digital communication strategies and content across multiple platforms
Graphic design experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic ministry environment
Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills
Demonstrates proactive thinking, creativity, initiative, and resourcefulness in identifying solutions and improving communication strategies and processes
Proficiency with digital communication and design tools including Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Asana, website platforms, and social media platforms including Meta, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
Understanding of current social media trends, digital engagement strategies, and online communication best practices
Ability to build and maintain healthy relationships in both in-person and digital environments
Ability to pass a background check is required
