Under minimal supervision, this position hosts music or other programs on one or more IRSC Public Media stations. Preparing for show by researching content or music; editing content; Host a regular program on broadcast and online platforms. Produces and electronically edits segments for air; uses editing tools in order to maintain high standards of sound quality. Produces and edits Underwriting, Promotional, and Public Service Announcements, as needed. Works weekends, early morning, or evening work hours as needed. two (2) years of related media experience (radio, TV, podcast or similar), as well as working with professional audio equipment, computers, portable recording devices, and editing software; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Knowledge of radio station operations, journalistic and broadcast standards, and FCC rules. Ability to write and orally deliver content on-air, live and recorded. Skill in working with professional audio equipment, computers, portable recording devices, and editing software for broadcasts. Ability to be accurate and detailed oriented, master new broadcast technologies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, use good judgment, multi-task, be self-motivated, be creative, and work independently as well as with others. This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Additionally, all employees of the College are expected to maintain professional standards of communication, able to learn and apply new technology, and abide by all policies and procedures.
