Overview
The Production Engineering Specialist is responsible for supporting production engineering and automation development for new vehicle programs, managing the entire process from concept design and line layout to equipment specification, installation, and commissioning. It drives the implementation of robotics, tooling, and production equipment while coordinating closely with suppliers to ensure project timelines are met. The position focuses on improving productivity and quality by establishing and maintaining work instructions, control plans, and PFMEA within a JIS manufacturing environment. In addition, it collaborates with both local teams and headquarters in Korea to support stable mass production launches and continuous process optimization.
Responsibilities
The incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead end-to-end automation and production engineering for new vehicle/program launches by defining process concepts, line layouts, and equipment specifications.
Drive implementation of collaborative robots, tooling/fixtures, and workstations—managing supplier technical alignment, procurement support, installation/commissioning (including shutdown projects), and on-time delivery.
Improve productivity, quality, and traceability in a JIS (Just-In-Sequence) environment by establishing/maintaining Work Instructions, Control Plans, and PFMEA, and by defining MES-integrated process control logic.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required and preferred for this position.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
3+ Years experience with one or more. (Design, Assembly production, vehicle development, facility development)
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Fluent in Korean and English.
Ability to collaborate with any team in the plant and HQ in Korea on a new project
Periodic New Car Development Status Consultative Meeting Operation
Ability to understand or make a concept for production facilities in the production line
Ability to understand module function in JIS (Just In Sequence) Manufacturing Environment
Direct activities associated with maximizing profitability (cost variance, manpower, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel for documentation
Ability to manage projects or to achieve established deadlines (Include shutdown project)
Engage in program design and development stages, from the launch of a new car project
Ability to develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
Ability to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Prepare and maintain work instruction, control plan, and PFMEA
Ability to draw concept layout and to write specifications of equipment for purchasing facilities, jigs, workstations, line-side racks, etc.
Research and request quotations from suppliers (equipment, tools, fixtures, purchased components, etc.)
Experience with 2D or 3D Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) programs for reviewing module parts and facilities (Basic is Auto Cad, mostly Catia V5)
