San Diego Humane Society is hiring a Full-Time Community Cat Program Supervisor for our Community Cat Program team!

In this role, you'll support the daily operations of the Community Cat Program (CCP) while supervising the Field Coordinator and Shelter Medicine Associates in their daily operations related to CCP, Community Spay Neuter, the Vaccine Clinic and other assigned areas. This position supports our mission by ensuring the flow and efficiency of the program is maintained while ensuring humane handling and individualized attention for each cat that goes through the program.

What you'll do:

Supervise CCP staff members including orientation and training, providing regular and timely feedback, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring compliance with SDHS trainings and policies, administering disciplinary actions, making recommendations for hiring and termination decisions, and providing coaching for staff and CCP volunteers.
Create and maintain staff schedules and oversee and approve timecard entries, changes, time-off requests, etc.
Support the CCP Manager in facilitating the needs of the program, which will include field work throughout San Diego, organizing volunteers, community relations and tracking in progress patients. Will work closely with medical teams, Humane Law Enforcement, and other departments and serve as backup to the Manager and other leadership, including attending and/or leading meetings, and assuming other leadership duties.
Respond to escalated guest concerns, and regularly provide hands-on assistance to CCP team members to ensure timely and thorough completion of responsibilities. Be available to staff for questions and to provide guidance and coaching as needed.
Assist with the coordination of trapping, caring, and returning (TNR) community cats to the field/their found location, including participating directly in TNR, and coordinating volunteers to do the same.
Responsible for vehicle and inventory management and assisting with data tracking and administrative support for CCP.
What we're looking for:

Requires an associate's degree in a related field and at least three (3) years of full-time related paid experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and education.
One year experience as a supervisor highly preferred.
Experience trapping cats as part of a Trap-Neuter-Return program required; prior experience working with cats in a shelter, animal hospital, high-volume spay
euter clinic or other similar environment preferred.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.

Location & Hours:

Based at our San Diego Campus, with frequent travel within San Diego County required. This position works 40 hours per week.

Pay:

Starting range is between $26.60 - $29.61 per hour and is eligible for an hourly bilingual-Spanish premium.

The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time. For all candidates, the actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.
