About the Associate, Social Media Strategist
Manhattan Strategies is seeking an Associate, Social Media Strategist to join our team. The best-fit candidate has a demonstrated understanding of social media strategy and execution, including platform nuances, content formats, and performance optimization.
You are proactive and energized by a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a genuine interest in digital culture, media, and emerging platforms. Given the real-time nature of social media, this role requires flexibility and responsiveness outside of standard hours when client needs arise. Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management:
Execute day-to-day social media management across platforms (Meta, TikTok, X, Reddit, and others), including scheduling, publishing, and community management.
Social Media Strategy:
Support development and execution of platform-specific strategies aligned with broader communications and campaign goals.
Persona Development:
Translate audience insights into clearly defined personas and tailor content to drive engagement with priority segments.
Content Development:
Draft, edit, and optimize social content including copy, visuals, and short-form video concepts that align with brand voice and objectives.
Listening & Trend Analysis:
Conduct social listening and trend analysis to identify timely opportunities, emerging narratives, and competitive positioning.
Platform Best Practices:
Monitor and share platform updates, algorithm changes, and best practices to continuously refine our approach.

Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or communications; agency experience preferred
Demonstrated understanding of social media strategy, including platform nuances, content formats, and performance optimization
Experience developing or applying audience personas to inform content and targeting decisions
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone across platforms and audiences
Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, native platform insights)
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
Genuine interest in trends across digital culture, media, and emerging platforms
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience
