Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join our growing Screening and Early Detection commercial team at Guardant Health as a field‑based Associate Account Executive. You’ll collaborate closely with sales leadership to shape go‑to‑market strategies and launch groundbreaking cancer screening technologies that will directly impact patients’ lives. In this role, you’ll promote the SHIELD colorectal cancer (CRC) blood test to healthcare providers in the primary care setting. Your work will drive early detection of cancer, helping save lives and reduce healthcare costs.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve sales targets by consistently meeting or exceeding goals through effective prospecting, relationship‑building, and execution of national sales strategies.

Target and engage healthcare providers to build strong relationships and secure commitment to adopt the Shield test for CRC and other cancers.

Engage providers with challenger selling, demonstrating how Guardant Health’s offerings improve patient outcomes and streamline practice.

Educate and support providers with in‑depth product knowledge and training, gaining stakeholder support beyond the primary provider to ensure smooth integration of SHIELD into workflow.

Collaboration & Strategy

Collaborate with clinical, marketing, and product teams to align sales strategies, share feedback and ensure cohesive execution of business plans.

Identify new business opportunities within your territory and collaborate with regional and local laboratories to expand reach and secure phlebotomy draw agreements.

Develop and execute business plans aligned with brand strategies to support successful launches of new cancer screening technologies.

Market Insights & Analysis

Monitor competitive landscape by continuously analyzing market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to inform tactics and report insights to leadership.

Share key insights and opportunities with the Commercial Team to enhance product offerings and optimize sales strategies.

Customer Service & Operations

Provide high‑touch customer service by resolving issues proactively and supporting providers throughout the sales process.

Ensure compliance and administrative excellence by adhering to company policies, industry standards, and regulations while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Qualifications

2+ years in a B2B field‑based, customer‑facing sales role with a proven track record of success; preferred experience selling medical or healthcare products or services.

Demonstrated ability to engage in selling conversations, overcome objections, and align client needs with product offerings.

Quick learner capable of applying technical product knowledge to drive sales.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.

CRM proficiency in Salesforce, Veeva, or similar platforms for tracking interactions and progress.

Superior negotiation, problem‑solving, and customer service skills; preferred high‑touch service and relationship‑building focus.

Compensation
US Location Base Pay Range: $96,000 – $105,000 per year. Bonus, commission, equity, and benefits are not included in this range.

Hybrid Work Model
Guardant employees within 50 miles of a facility are required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. In‑office days support collaboration, while work‑from‑home days allow focused work. The model provides flexibility for better work‑life balance while maintaining team connection.

Employee Physical Demands
May be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of work is performed in a desk or office environment, but there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard materials in the laboratory. Ability to sit for extended periods is required.
