Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our Marketing & Business Development team. This individual will play a critical role in driving firmwide growth initiatives, partnering closely with attorneys and practice leaders to develop and execute strategic business development efforts.
This is a high-visibility role requiring strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategy
Partner with practice and industry group leaders to develop and execute targeted business development strategies
Support firmwide initiatives aimed at driving revenue growth and expanding client relationships
Identify cross-selling opportunities across practices and offices
Pitch & Proposal Management
Lead the end-to-end development of pitches, proposals, and RFP responses
Ensure high-quality, compelling content aligned with client needs and firm capabilities
Track and manage opportunities through the full lifecycle
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor to attorneys and practice leaders
Participate in practice group, partner, and leadership meetings
Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Business Planning & Operations
Facilitate business planning efforts for practice groups and key initiatives
Oversee CRM and business development tools, including pipeline tracking and relationship management
Maintain marketing collateral, including attorney bios and practice materials
Marketing & External Engagement
Collaborate on events, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities
Support media relations efforts in partnership with external agencies
Manage submissions for industry directories, rankings, and awards
Team & Firm Contribution
Support onboarding of associates from a business development perspective
Contribute to internal committees and cross-functional initiatives
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA or JD preferred)
5+ years of experience in business development or marketing within a law firm or professional services environment
Proven experience managing proposals, pitches, and client-facing materials
Strong understanding of legal practices and client dynamics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
Experience working with CRM tools (e.g., InterAction) and Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
