Business Development Director, Biologics, Southern and Western Europe Remote, Field Base
Based in Switzerland
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time to meet with clients, attend industry events and visit Catalent sites.
Catalent are currently recruiting for a Business Development Director. The Business Development Director's primary role is to evaluate and assess contract manufacturing opportunities with biopharma customers to align internal capabilities and services with the customers' outsourcing needs for Drug Substance and Drug Product fill/finish services including development and manufacturing.
This new Business Development director position will be responsible for developing new business opportunities in Southern and Western Europe with a focus on France, Italy and Spain (other regions might be added).
The Role Proactively develop business opportunities for contract manufacturing by prospecting for and calling on pharmaceutical and biotech companies for clinical and commercial needs.
Partner with internal sales/marketing and technical support teams to quickly assess and qualify drug target pursuits.
Respond to incoming Biopharmaceutical leads and inquiries from multi-sources, and qualify through business analysis, customer evaluations and strategic fit.
Engage in the preliminary selling stage of the sales cycle—prepare baseline price proposals and scope of work as part of the initial qualification process.
Present the value proposition for Catalent's capabilities and services to customers and facilitate on-site capabilities presentations and tours.
Increase the financial return of each project by maximizing each lead and educating the client on all of the solutions available through Catalent.
Ensure a successful transition to Project Management when appropriate, while maintaining strong client relationships leading to future business development opportunities.
The Candidate Degree in a Scientific subject or equivalent work experience.
Strong hunting skills and proven sales success in comparable role
5/7 years experience working within the pharmaceutical industry preferred with a focus on Drug Substance (mammalian expression systems) and/or Drug Product development, manufacturing, Sterile fill/finish.
Ability to effectively build strong relationships within all levels/disciplines of a biopharma account—matrix approach involving both functional representation and multiple levels of senior management.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to understand financial analytics, prioritize multiple tasks, and drive projects to completion.
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry and its key players.
Fluent in English essential, French, Italian or Spanish are a plus.
Work from home-based office, be prepared for frequent travel to customers, industry events and Catalent sites.
