Senior SEO/AEO Specialist We're looking for a Senior SEO/AEO Specialist who can own Retell's organic search presence from the ground up and make us the top result, not just on Google, but in AI-generated answers. You'll be the first dedicated SEO hire, which means you'll build the foundation, set the strategy, and execute it yourself.
This isn't a "manage the agency" role. We want someone who can write, ship, measure, and iterate fast.
Own and grow Retell's organic search channel end-to-end, including technical SEO, content strategy, and AI answer engine optimization (AEO). Set keyword and topical authority strategy across our core verticals: voice AI, call center automation, AI agents, and industry-specific terms. Produce and publish high-quality, search-optimized content targeting bottom-of-funnel and mid-funnel keywords. Optimize for LLM-generated answers across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and other AI surfaces. Conduct technical audits and work directly with engineering to resolve site speed, crawlability, and structured data issues. Build and track an SEO performance dashboard with clear leading and lagging indicators. Identify and pursue link-building and digital PR opportunities. Stay ahead of algorithm changes, AI search trends, and AEO best practices.
5+ years of experience in SEO, with at least 1 year focused on AEO or LLM search optimization. Proven track record of driving significant organic traffic growth at a B2B SaaS company. Deep fluency in technical SEO: Core Web Vitals, schema markup, crawl optimization, canonicalization. Strong content skills. You can write a compelling blog post and a well-structured landing page, not just write briefs for others. Experience with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Search Console, Screaming Frog, and Looker/GA4. Familiarity with how LLMs retrieve and cite information, and how to optimize for that. Ability to work autonomously and prioritize without hand-holding. Experience leveraging AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to accelerate content production and research.
Experience in voice AI, conversational AI, or enterprise SaaS. Background in developer-focused or technical product marketing. Existing relationships with relevant publications or communities in the AI/CX space.
