Job Summary
KBTX Media seeks an experienced multimedia journalist for the Brazos Valley’s largest and most trusted news team. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong news judgment, storytelling ability, and a passion for delivering original, imaginative content every day.

Responsibilities

Lead the newsroom, offering mentorship to other journalists while developing multiplatform content.

Write, shoot, edit, and present compelling content both on-air and online.

Develop long and short-term investigations, focusing on uncovering the human side of each story.

Enterprize content independently, maintain an active social media presence, and contextualize issues affecting the Brazos Valley.

Essential Responsibilities

Identify the day’s most important stories and source materials relevant to the audience.

Research, write, and edit daily content for television and digital platforms.

Generate daily stories and content, along with regular enterprise reporting.

Meet daily and weekly deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with a strong digital focus.

Qualifications

Two years of experience in a TV newsroom and a college degree in broadcast journalism or a related field.

Experience reviewing legal/court documents, submitting open records requests, and an established presence on digital platforms.

Experience with ENPS, BitCentral, and Grass Valley EDUIS.

Strong work ethic, people skills, team-player mentality, and professional attitude.

Availability to work weekends and occasional holidays.
