The Role
The Strategic Account Executive must be strategic, proactive, agile, creative and confident in order to foster executive relationships at the C‑Suite and Head of Shared Services level. Responsibilities include revenue retention, growth, renewal motions, and client satisfaction for assigned accounts.
Domain Expertise
Background ideally in either Benefits or Leaves, with a generalist focus on the entire Alight portfolio.
Collaboration with Solutions Architects and other Subject Matter Experts to share market insights.
Client Retention and Growth
Retain clients and maintain sustainable relationships while understanding all competitors.
Generate client demand for Alight product solutions and expand services through thorough understanding of client needs.
Build overall commercial strategy and develop narrative to communicate Alight’s offerings and advantages.
Drive renewals and execute end‑to‑end expansion within the customer base.
Pursue new opportunities and expansion opportunities at named accounts.
Create overall client plan that includes account mapping, renewals, retention, and strategic objectives.
Leverage customer relationships to deliver growth across multiple business functions.
Communicate successes, opportunities and account direction to internal leadership.
Lead high‑level discussions at the corporate level with accounts.
Develop expansion scope and bring in resources such as Solutions Architects to support demos and scope management.
Collaborate with internal resources for pricing strategy, analytics, business review preparation and presentation.
Demonstrate strong upselling aptitude to secure product adoption and secure incremental budgets aligned with client objectives.
Ensure client satisfaction and continuously monitor ongoing satisfaction.
Provide timely and accurate revenue forecasts and reports to inform strategic decision‑making.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs to meet and exceed business goals.
Develop full understanding of Alight’s product suite, features, value proposition and differentiating traits versus competitors.
Prioritize client engagement with emphasis on maximizing revenue growth and minimizing churn.
Deploy bid management and optimization strategies, proactively communicating new features and growth opportunities.
Develop collaborative relationships with commercial and operational teams.
Ensure client satisfaction and continuous monitoring.
Qualifications
10+ years professional Sales/Account Management experience or in Benefits or Leaves.
Excel in strategic sales methodology, forecasting accuracy, process and client management leadership.
Exceptional presentation skills at the C‑Suite level.
Proven strategic thought leader and consultative seller able to demonstrate value.
Highly analytical approach to defining client outcomes.
Use facts and data to tell a story that leads to revenue growth and retention.
Inspire the team and rally behind the strategy.
Maintain strong content knowledge across entire Alight portfolio.
Work under pressure with resilience and tenacity.
Proactive leader who creates energy and focus in a highly matrixed team.
Travel expectation 25‑50% (sometimes on short notice).

Salary Pay Range
Minimum: 185,000 USD
Maximum: 200,000 USD
Alight considers a variety of factors in determining compensation, including experience, education, certification, market data, internal equity and geography. Bonus and incentive eligibility are role‑specific.
