Ads Operations Specialist
The Ads Operations Specialist will own end-to-end campaign delivery across onsite and offsite channels, working with a team of campaign managers to ensure efficient delivery and performance. This role combines hands‑on campaign management with strategic leadership, owning delivery against advertiser KPIs while building best practices, improving processes, and guiding a high‑performing operations function.

Essential Responsibilities

Engages with merchants to identify their needs and provides timely responses to requests. Conducts regular check‑ins to enhance relationships.

Communicates clearly and effectively with merchants about operational processes and product features. Shares relevant updates to keep clients informed.

Actively solicits client feedback to identify service improvement areas. Implements minor changes based on this feedback to enhance the client experience.

Demonstrates foundational knowledge of product features and functionalities, addressing basic client inquiries effectively.

Keeps informed about basic industry trends and regulations relevant to merchant services, sharing insights with clients as needed.

Assists clients in account configurations, providing guidance on standard offerings and features.

Handles standard client issues independently, ensuring timely resolutions and effectively managing client expectations.

Monitors basic account activity to identify potential issues and responds as needed.

Acts as the primary contact for client issues, ensuring needs are promptly addressed with minimal escalation.

Acknowledges and utilizes the role of feedback in service improvement, collecting feedback during interactions and sharing insights with the team.

Recognizes general signs of growth opportunities within merchant accounts, such as increased transaction volumes or new service inquiries.

Understands the importance of merchant satisfaction in retention efforts and can articulate how positive experiences impact loyalty.

Minimum Qualifications

1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications
Campaign Performance & Optimization

Own end-to-end campaign delivery across onsite and offsite channels, ensuring performance against KPIs (e.g., CPA, ROAS, incrementality, brand lift)

Monitor pacing, troubleshoot issues, and optimize campaigns using data‑driven insights

Develop and execute testing strategies (A/B, multivariate) to continuously improve outcomes

Translate performance data into actionable insights and scalable optimization frameworks

Operational Excellence

Lead campaign setup, QA, forecasting, and launch processes for programmatic campaigns

Build and standardize playbooks, workflows, and best practices across the Ads ecosystem

Drive efficiency in campaign delivery, including targeting, bidding, supply, and yield optimization (e.g., PMP deal management)

Ensure accurate tracking and reporting throughout the campaign lifecycle

Cross‑Functional Leadership

Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, Product, and Technical teams to deliver advertiser success

Support media planning and campaign strategy development aligned to client objectives

Provide guidance and mentorship to campaign managers and analysts

Communicate performance insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership

Innovation & Growth

Identify opportunities to scale proven strategies and improve platform performance

Leverage PayPal's unique data and insights to unlock competitive advantage

Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with a strong results orientation

Qualifications
Essential

3+ years in digital advertising, programmatic media, or performance marketing

Experience managing complex, multi‑channel campaigns (display, video, mobile, CTV)

Strong knowledge of AdTech ecosystem (DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, ad servers)

Proven ability to drive performance through data analysis and optimization

Strong analytical and technical skills (dashboards, experimentation; Tableau a plus)

Detail‑oriented with strong project management and problem‑solving abilities

Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to thrive in ambiguity

Preferred

Experience in ecommerce or commerce media platforms

Familiarity with troubleshooting web/app or ad‑serving environments

Exposure to HTML, ad ops tooling, or data pipelines
