Organization Overview
DRNY, the Protection and Advocacy System and the Client Assistance Program for New York State, is seeking an individual with a passion for achieving justice for individuals with disabilities. With a focus on civil rights and disability justice, DRNY actively works to break down the systemic oppression of all people with disabilities. DRNY recognizes the intersecting legacies and effect of ableism, white supremacy, colonial capitalism, and gendered oppression on people with disabilities. Position Overview
Disability Rights New York (DRNY) is seeking Marketing and Communications Interns.

The successful Intern will be provided the opportunity to utilize their skills and experiences to help improve the lives of people with disabilities. Interns will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Team, as well as Executive staff members, to craft DRNY's statewide message.

This is an unpaid internship. Interns may be eligible for academic course credit with school approval. The internship can be full‑time or part‑time.

Essential Functions

Update and improve consistency of current and outdated content;

Collaborate with internal departments on projects and assignments;

Write, proofread, and edit brochures, newsletters, and other documents;

Write for a variety of audiences in different tones and voices.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience in marketing or communications OR pursuing a degree in marketing or communications;

Ability to multi‑task, manage multiple projects and balance competing priorities;

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Canva.

Excellent communication and organizational skills with an innate attention to detail;

Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a strong team member.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed remotely, with the majority of time spent working on a computer.
