About the Role:

The Videographer / Video Production Specialist supports multimedia storytelling and digital communications efforts for a nationwide public safety broadband program. This role is responsible for capturing, producing, editing, and publishing video content that supports external communications, stakeholder engagement, and program awareness initiatives.

Working closely with communications leadership, social media staff, and graphic designers, the Videographer develops high-quality video products, prepares supporting materials for digital platforms, and ensures multimedia assets are delivered in compliance with accessibility and branding standards.

Video products produced through this role support a range of communications activities including educational content, program storytelling, interviews, stakeholder engagement, and digital campaigns.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Capture, produce, and edit video content supporting communications campaigns, digital storytelling, stakeholder outreach, and program initiatives

Film interviews, events, and program activities; collaborate with communications staff to develop video concepts, scripts, storyboards, and interview questions

Edit and finalize video products for distribution across digital platforms, including YouTube and social media channels

Produce short-form video and motion graphics for social media and other digital communications initiatives

Prepare video captions, transcripts, and accessibility features in accordance with Section 508 and program accessibility standards

Support podcast production by staff recordings, capturing audio/video as needed, editing audio, and preparing supporting materials for publication

Upload and manage multimedia content across digital platforms, preparing captions, descriptions, and metadata for distribution

Develop supporting visual assets such as thumbnails, graphics, and overlays while ensuring alignment with program branding and messaging guidance

Coordinate with communications, social media, and program teams to align multimedia content with editorial calendars and communications priorities

Maintain and organize multimedia files, raw footage, and final products within approved digital asset management and records management systems

Support multimedia execution for communications campaigns, events, blogs, reports, and other digital content initiatives

Manage multiple multimedia deliverables and production timelines in coordination with the communications team

Location:
You will work as part of a primarily remote team, with occasional in-person meetings at headquarters locations in Washington, DC; Reston, VA; Arlington, VA; or Boulder, CO.

Required Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, film production, multimedia production, digital media, or a related field

1–4 years of professional experience in videography, video production, or digital multimedia content development

Demonstrated experience filming and editing professional video content for digital platforms

Proficiency with video editing and multimedia production tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and related Adobe Creative Suite applications

Experience producing captioned and accessible video content that meets Section 508 accessibility standards

Experience publishing video content across digital platforms such as YouTube and social media channels

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent video projects

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with communications and stakeholder engagement teams

US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Experience supporting federal government or public sector communications initiatives

Experience producing multimedia storytelling content for outreach, education, or advocacy programs

Experience capturing interviews or documentary-style storytelling content

Experience supporting podcast or audio production workflows

Familiarity with digital asset management platforms and records management systems

Experience developing motion graphics or short-form social media video content
