About the Role

Hoskbrew LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Production Design Lead

to spearhead the visual and physical integrity of our restoration products and branded materials.

This role is a unique hybrid of forensic graphic design, industrial print production, and vendor management. The ideal candidate combines advanced technical design expertise with hands-on production oversight and a passion for preserving historical authenticity.

In this position, you will oversee the entire label and branding lifecycle-from reconstructing legacy artwork with microscopic precision to sourcing and managing specialized industrial print vendors responsible for final production. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives at the intersection of creativity, technical accuracy, craftsmanship, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Reconstruct high-fidelity vector artwork from degraded or legacy physical samples with exceptional accuracy
Maintain historical design integrity through deep understanding of vintage print methods, materials, and production techniques
Source, evaluate, and manage specialized industrial print vendors for non-standard and specialty production runs
Negotiate pricing, production timelines, and technical specifications with external vendors and manufacturing partners
Execute advanced color matching and calibration across multiple substrates and lighting environments
Conduct durability and archival testing on materials including adhesives, laminates, coatings, and inks
Ensure all production outputs meet strict quality standards for restoration authenticity, precision, and longevity
Manage the full production lifecycle from design approval through physical application and final inspection
Apply decals, labels, and physical design elements with precision to high-value restored hardware
Develop and maintain production standards, quality control processes, and documentation
Collaborate cross-functionally with restoration, engineering, and operations teams to support production goals
Qualifications

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field
Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Certifications in print production, color management, or Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design with strong emphasis on print production
Proven experience in vendor management, procurement, or manufacturing coordination
Experience working with specialized materials, print processes, restoration projects, or collectible products preferred
Experience with industrial print vendors and specialty manufacturing environments strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies

Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with advanced print-ready vectorization skills
Strong understanding of print production standards including pre-flight, bleed setup, GSM specifications, CMYK, and Pantone color systems
Knowledge of material science as it relates to print durability, adhesives, laminates, and long-term preservation
Exceptional attention to detail with ability to achieve precise 1:1 design reconstruction and accuracy
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and production coordination skills
Ability to interpret technical specifications and enforce production compliance standards
High level of manual dexterity and precision for physical application work
Strong organizational, project management, and workflow prioritization abilities
Creative problem-solving mindset with commitment to craftsmanship and quality
Leadership & Collaboration

This role oversees relationships with external print vendors, manufacturing partners, and contract production resources. The Production Design Lead will provide technical direction, maintain production quality standards, and coordinate priorities across the production pipeline to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

Work Environment & Schedule

Primarily office, studio, and production-based work environment
Full-time schedule, typically Monday through Friday
Standard shift schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with flexibility based on production timelines and project needs
Hands-on work involving detailed physical application and inspection processes
Collaborative, creative, and fast-paced environment focused on craftsmanship and precision
