Intern – Public Relations and Social Media, Chicago, Illinois.

What You\'ll Do
During the ELS internship, you will work in a collaborative, fast-paced company right in the heart of downtown Chicago. Our internship program is robust and you will be involved in meaningful projects that have a true impact upon the business. We also offer intern-specific activities, including lunch & learns, a group project and presentation to our executive team, networking opportunities and meet & greets with executives. Of course, our interns will also be a part of our summer company-wide social events!

Your Job Will Include

Build upon our library of PR Pitches and articles.

Assist in generating recognition and media coverage through awards like Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.

Monitor and record press coverage that mention our properties and brands.

Monitor social media platforms and initiatives in conjunction with social media team, marketing, and operations teams

Continue to expand the reach of customer engagement

Use social media tools for communication with ELS’s target audience

Identify and respond accordingly to interactions that may arise on social media forums

Assist in growing the #100DaysofCamping campaign

Report on social media activity and results

Monitor brand conversations and recognize social opportunities as they arise

Create relationships with social media influencers

Monitor third party review sites (TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.) and report on findings

Experience & Skills You Need

Currently enrolled in a college or university program working towards a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or Marketing

Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0

Demonstrates problem solving skills in customer focused environment

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Estimated Compensation For This Position In The States Of BC, CA, CO, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, VT And WA Is
Hourly: $18.00 - $18.00

A salary offer will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to the base pay and our benefits, some positions are eligible for bonuses, sales commissions, or incentive pay.
