What Does The Account Director Do? As an Account Director, you will serve as the primary liaison between Continuum and a leading trade publisher. In this role, you will lead a Marketing Production Center of Excellence that centralizes sourcing, supplier management, and execution of physical marketing materials, including commercial print, corrugated displays, and promotional products.
You will oversee the end-to-end execution of marketing production initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of Continuum's services with the client's marketing, procurement, and operational objectives while identifying opportunities for strategic growth and cost optimization.
Leading a dedicated account team, you will manage project intake, production development, procurement strategy, and supplier relationships to deliver high-quality solutions that support book launches, retail marketing programs, and broader brand initiatives while aligning with the client's business goals.
This role is remote, with occasional travel to New York City, supplier facilities, and Continuum headquarters in Chicago, IL.
A Typical Week May Look Like This: Monday – Imagine you kick off the week with a status update meeting with the client's account team, discussing ongoing projects, upcoming campaigns, and support needed. Serve as a trusted advisor, fostering long-term partnerships by aligning Continuum's capabilities with client goals.
Tuesday – Review performance metrics from recent campaigns and purchasing patterns from the Continuum eStore and inventory program. Prepare insights and recommendations for optimization.
Wednesday – Participate in a new project kick off meeting with the client's creative team to brainstorm creative executions for an upcoming program launch campaign. Ensure projects are on track by coordinating with internal departments and addressing emerging client needs.
Thursday – Meet with the client's senior leadership to present performance reports and discuss strategic initiatives. Develop project plans to ensure success of Continuum-led initiatives. Introduce additional Continuum capabilities that could further enhance the client's marketing efforts.
Friday – Analyze actuals vs. budget for the prior month or quarter, identifying underperforming areas and developing an action plan for improvement. Review SLAs and Continuum's performance metrics.

Experience/Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in marketing execution, either as a marketer or a provider of marketing services.
5+ years of experience in account management or leadership roles.
Proven track record of managing large-scale clients and delivering successful win/win business outcomes.
Knowledge of point-of-sale programs, corrugated displays, risers, and merchandising in retail environments.
Experience with demand planning, production scheduling, and vendor management.
Understanding of 3PL operations and fulfillment processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving client needs.
Proficiency in data analysis and insights-driven recommendations, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent project management and organizational abilities; PMP certification or similar credential is a plus.
Experience with budgeting, planning, and forecasting, with strong financial acumen.
Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field preferred.
