Overview
Hearst Connecticut Media Group (HCMG) invites you to help deliver impactful media campaigns for our customers using our advertising solutions. This role is for a digitally savvy, highly motivated Account Executive to join the advertising team at Hearst Connecticut Media Group. You will develop and manage a sales pipeline and build new business relationships with local advertisers throughout Connecticut. You will work with customers to promote solutions that fit their marketing needs and act as an advocate for the customer within HCMG, collaborating with other departments to meet and exceed expectations in performance and process. Hearst Newspapers operates on a hybrid work week schedule in the Meriden office.
What you will do
Lead Generation: Call on local small to medium sized businesses to show the value of our digital media advertising products (social media, display, video, programmatic, SEO/SEM) and traditional ads. Generate new leads through cold calling, networking, and prospecting. Own the sales cycle with support from the local account management team after the sale.
Product Expertise: Become an expert on our digital and print products/services. The first three weeks of hire include global and local training to be fully educated before going out on your own. Ongoing learning and training will support your career as an Account Executive.
Execute Sales Tactics: Implement marketing strategies and deliver effective sales presentations to earn, retain, and increase revenue.
Advertising Solutions: Create engaging advertising solutions to meet clients’ business needs.
Client Solutions: Recommend new products and promotional opportunities to current clients and handle objections efficiently. Engage with the local business community to boost clients’ businesses through multiple digital media channels.
Forecasting: Manage client pipeline and monthly revenue forecast in Salesforce.com.

What we’re looking for
Education: BA/BS in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications a plus or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2+ years of B2B outside sales in advertising or media, with success in new business acquisition and meeting revenue goals.
Skills: Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proficiency with Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Mindset: Goal-oriented, competitive, and forward-thinking with solid business and financial acumen.
