Job Title
Graphic Designer
Nature of Work
Creates original designs, executes artwork and/or writes feature stories for print publications and the website. Conceptualizes design layout of finished art and text for reproduction and coordinates final production of finished product with printing department. May oversee the bidding and award process for project needs.
Examples of Work Performed
1. Design posters, postcards, programs, brochures, and promotional materials
2. Compile and coordinate event schedules
3. Compose press releases
4. Attend and photograph events
5. Create advertisements and submit to vendors
6. Send mailings, maintain databases and plan events
7. Oversee a graphic design/ public relations intern in Fall and Spring Semesters.
8. Assist faculty
9. Other duties as assigned by the Dean of School of Arts and Humanities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in art, commercial art, communications, or related field and at least one year experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Superior written communication skills, including copy writing and editing
Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent graphic design skills
Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
Proficient in Microsoft Word
Knowledge of printing processes, including pre-pressing and color modes
Three years experience in a public relations/media environment

Salary Information
Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive benefit package. Annual salary range is $47,216-$59,020.
