We are seeking

a MARKETING MANAGER

to join the Scientific Anglers team. This onsite position is based in Midland, Michigan.
The Scientific Anglers Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategic vision, concepts, implementation, tracking, and reporting of all multi‑media marketing within the Scientific Anglers business. The role develops and delivers disciplined reporting of merchandising, marketing, and website usage, supports analysis and planning processes, and provides recommendations to optimize product marketing opportunities.
Position Interfaces

The Marketing Manager reports directly to the President of Scientific Anglers and collaborates closely with Sales, R&D, Merchandising Operations, Customer Service, Accounting, Advertising and Creative teams (in‑house and third‑party), Orvis Marketing, IT, executive leadership, media partners, key accounts, customers, sales representatives, and brand ambassadors.
Responsibilities

Develop and implement SEO and paid promotion programs, monitoring, reporting, and acting on data weekly.
Create an annual marketing calendar including events, programs, and promotional activities to drive brand awareness and sales.
Negotiate collateral projects such as workbooks, ad campaigns, promotional materials, in‑store POP, technical bulletins, and video assets; prioritize spend and campaigns to meet goals and budgets.
Plan and prioritize key customer marketing initiatives.
Analyze findings with merchants and recommend actions.
Report on homepage usage/opportunities and performance.
Define e‑commerce best practices through competitive analysis and provide actionable recommendations.
Handle e‑mail reporting.
Create web marketing plans and budgets.
Develop merchandising and reporting best practices for promotions across social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, SEO, paid placement, and affiliate programs.
Develop and maintain packaging and branding that meets sales and margin objectives.
Collaborate with R&D to understand product features, benefits, and communicate them through multimedia marketing.
Travel domestically and possibly internationally for trade shows, consumer events, photo/video shoots, etc.
Work with stakeholders and team members to set and execute plans for the consumer show circuit.
Key Performance Measurements

Evidence of a three‑year marketing plan achieving a 20 % increase in sales across all distribution points.
Deliver disciplined merchandising and marketing reports that increase transparency and insight.
Set mission, vision, budget, and tactics for marketing as a three‑year plan.
Maintain a brand identity that supports sales, margin, and operational goals.
Competencies and Requirements

MBA and/or 5+ years relevant experience in optimizing marketing systems.
Proven in‑depth understanding of marketing analytics.
Ability to translate data into insights and market success.
Strong computer skills: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Meta Analytics, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience managing third‑party partners (advertising agencies, creative agencies, graphics vendors).
High knowledge of web and marketing best practices.
A risk‑taker who develops new programs.
Analytical knowledge of channel/customer dynamics; desire for channel expertise.
Creative business thinker aligned with Scientific Anglers product philosophy.
Experience in the outdoor/fly‑fishing market/industry.
High personal integrity.
