Design Office: Located in Fort Lee, NJ

Job Description
The Designer will be responsible as a hands‑on designer and will work independently to grow their area of business. The person will work cross-functionally in a collaborative fashion with key partners in production, product management, and other relevant teams to effectively create merchandise from concept to final delivery. The Designer will nurture relationships with Buyers and present the collection seasonally during Roadshow/travel trips.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design

At least 5-7 years of design experience in Menswear/Boys

Design experience with Target and Walmart is a plus.

Must be able to execute tech packs and design and manage a category independently.

Must have advanced skills in Illustrator

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Must be very well versed in Woven and Knit Fabric Knowledge, Washes and Finishes.

Must be a team player as well as able to work independently

Highly organized and detail oriented

Background in fit, fabric development, finishes, washes, and construction detail

Positive and professional attitude

Ability to multitask with multiple accounts, teams, and overseas mills

Travel 2 days at a time domestically and/or internationally (Canada) 4 times a year.

Job Responsibilities

Identify new trends, innovations, opportunities, and lead the creation of seasonal design concepts to final product in their category.

Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Sample making and Tech Teams) through communication and problem solving.

Source new fabrics, sustainable attributes for each season.

Initiates tech packs, including detailed sketches, wash direction, garment construction, fabric construction, trimmings, etc.

Shop local markets for inspiration.

Salary: 85K-105K per year

Garment construction: 5 years (Preferred)
