We are hiring a full‑time, temporary Media Planner to join us through June. This role focuses on strategic media plan development, including tactical details and campaign performance.
Responsibilities Maintain and grow foundational knowledge of online and offline media channels
Collaborate with Investment, Analytics (Redbox), and Strategy teams to incorporate actionable audience insights into strategic recommendations
Manage weekly status calls and serve as the main client point‑of‑contact
Manage client budgets and maintain flowcharts to ensure accurate, holistic media plans
Monitor media and client trends
Collaborate on tactical presentations with the Investment team, ensuring a clear story built around the strategic presentation
Utilize tools such as Vivvix/Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO, and NMI and question data rigorously
Act as the first gatekeeper and reviewer for Assistant Planner work
Articulate strong quantitative media strategy elements – media mix, channel role, reach and frequency, flighting strategy, etc.
Fully comprehend client business objectives and the role media plays in achieving them
Encourage media‑creative integration through cross‑agency presentations and timelines
Quality Focus Develop holistic, strategic media plans in partnership with Supervisors and Directors
Understand target audience behaviors & drivers; translate them into actionable segments with the Investment team
Critically interrogate tactical plan details to ensure strategy pulls through
Understand media metrics beyond basic levels, including layers of quality and effectiveness
Encourage outside‑of‑the‑box thinking
Develop strategic media POVs for clients
Personal Efforts Participate in training programs to enhance professional growth
Mentor Assistant Planner; provide ongoing feedback and reviews to guide growth
Display high dedication and motivation
Positively contribute to company culture
Troubleshoot team issues and concerns
Build esprit de corps through strong team communication
Requirements Bachelor’s Degree
2‑3 + years of media planning experience at an agency
Ability to juggle multiple client projects, meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and math skills
Capability to work independently; manage projects from start to finish
Experience managing and mentoring junior team members
Initiative to acquire new skills and take on workload
Professionalism and confidence when working with vendors, team members, and clients
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; especially high proficiency in Excel
Location & Schedule Role requires proximity to New York City. We offer a hybrid arrangement with on‑site work in the office and optional remote work.
Physical Demands Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (≈ 50% stationary), ability to stand, bend, and reach, operate a computer and other office equipment, communicate information or ideas accurately, observe details up close.
