Title: Designer Lead / Design Document Management
Location: Wickliffe, OH, US (also Brecksville, Ohio)
Job Type: Full-time, On‑site
Responsibilities
Create detailed technical drawings and plans for engineering projects.
Design sub‑components and coordinate the work of the entire design team.
Lead design coordination for more complex or higher‑value projects.
Ensure design standards and code compliance across all drawings.
Prepare assembly instructions and bills of materials for design solutions.
Develop and prepare engineering designs from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, and specification sheets.
Prepare and review engineering documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and verify drawing accuracy.
Review and revise designs to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Identify and resolve design issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in troubleshooting technical problems and provide solutions as needed.
Coordinate CAD work and document management systems with 2nd and 3rd parties.
Qualifications
Technical drafting skills and proficiency with CAD software (AutoDesk suite, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
Experience designing 2D and 3D technical drawings and maintaining drawing files, records, and databases.
Knowledge of industry design standards, codes, regulations, and company policies.
Leadership experience in design coordination, coaching, and training of a broader design team.
Background in draftworks and engineering design in industrial contexts, especially chemical processing and facilities.
Minimum of 5–10 years working in drafting and engineering design, with project design and delivery through to construction.
Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and documentation management systems.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with cross‑functional project teams on multiple projects.
