Internal Communications Manager, Chips, Amazon

Amazon, New York, NY, USA

Pay: $139,400-$188,500/yr

Job type: Full Time

Internal Communications Manager, Chips, Amazon
Amazon is inventing at the frontier of computing — designing custom chips that power cloud infrastructure and AI workloads at unprecedented scale. We’re seeking a high‑judgment communications professional to join our team to tell that story — to our own people first.

For over a decade, Amazon has designed custom chips that have transformed cloud computing and artificial intelligence. What began with the 2015 acquisition of Annapurna Labs has grown into a $10+ billion business. Today, Graviton processors run applications for 90% of AWS’s largest customers and Trainium chips train frontier AI models — including one of the world’s largest AI supercomputers.

As Internal Communications Manager for Chips, you’ll shape how Amazonians understand, connect with, and take pride in semiconductor leadership. You’ll work on two fronts: strengthening culture and connection within the chips organization, and building awareness and advocacy across Amazon’s broader corporate workforce — one of our most important amplification networks.

The ideal candidate brings experience building proactive internal communications programs in technical domains; navigating complex, multi‑stakeholder environments; and translating hardware R&D into accessible narratives that resonate with both technical and non‑technical audiences. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, energized by fast‑moving priorities, and skilled at making complex work feel meaningful.

Key Job Responsibilities

Build and run a sustained internal communications program that helps Amazonians across the company understand our chips business, connect it to their own work, and rally behind our semiconductor leadership

Drive a steady cadence of storytelling through company‑wide editorial channels, fireside chats, and cross‑functional forums that connect chip leaders with internal customers and partners

Partner with Amazon and AWS internal communications teams to align messaging and ensure our hardware story is well‑represented in company‑wide narratives and key business moments

Foster culture and community within the chips organization – partnering with HR partners to create meaningful communications touchpoints, recognition moments, and shared rituals that keep a globally distributed team connected to each other and to the impact of their work

Develop creative storytelling formats — written, video, and multimedia — that bring chip innovation to life, celebrate the teams behind it, and make complex semiconductor work accessible to broad internal audiences
