Public Relations Specialist
Position Summary: The Terry College of Business seeks a full‑time employee to develop and manage a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the Institute for Leadership Advancement (ILA), including brand management, social media, newsletters, website oversight, donor development, and stewardship communications.
Responsibilities
Develop & manage overall communications strategy for internal and external audiences.
Brand management: maintain cohesive brand voice, adhere to UGA and Terry College guidelines.
Social media management: create, schedule, and monitor content on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn; track analytics; respond to queries; monitor related accounts; repost when relevant.
Newsletters: compile, design, and distribute weekly student newsletters and biannual newsletters.
Website management: lead copy & design for the ILA website, coordinate with OMC, maintain brand consistency.
Marketing materials: maintain design and copy of master files, coordinate with the Office of Marketing & Communications, ensure materials ready for use.
Strategic marketing: develop & maintain brand voice for alumni programs, manage subscriptions, support external and internal communication and event marketing, partner with faculty teams on student stories.
Donor‑focused development & stewardship: produce stewardship reports, coordinate campaigns with Terry Development, compile student success stories for donors, maintain brand standards.
Project management & copyediting: monitor deadlines, support review and editing of team development content.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned (5% of time).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with public relations and/or marketing; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; excellent written communication skills; proficiency with CANVA, Google Drive, Mailchimp, and WordPress; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Experience with public relations and/or marketing.
Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines.
Excellent written communication skills.
Proficiency in CANVA, Google Drive, Mailchimp, and WordPress.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Salary
Advertised Salary: $40,000 + commensurate with experience.
